Understanding personal and core values
Our values shape us. They can define the boundaries that we are willing to accept in the work environment as well as say something about the type of person we are – what we like, our beliefs, attitudes and style.
Understanding ‘core’ personal values over other more generalised societal values helps us to appreciate why we might feel good about a situation at work, over feel ‘put upon’ or bad about another. By understanding our most cherished values we can find out where we might be happiest and where we might struggle to fit in.
